Staying active after deployment with ng?

I'm deploying at the end of the year with my ng unit. Ever since I got back from bct in January iv practically been begging to go active duty but my unit won't let me. They said I will be able to stay active duty if I want after the deployment. Does anyone know if this is even true or they are just saying this so I'll stop asking? Also if It is true then will I be able to keep my same mos (11B) AND pick my duty station? I wanna be in Italy with the 173rd
