How do i use steam ?? it says select card type O_o?

ok well i have a ANZ access card "thats just for my money" not a credit card or any thing ... but when i want to buy something online "from steam" it says select account type there is VISA , MASTERCARD and then some other american brands aswell what do i select .. am i aloud to pay using my card or do i have to make a pay pal account if so thats so bloody LAME! please hheeelllpppp me what do i do?
