Monroe piercing help?

I've had my monroe pierced for about two and a half weeks, there is no swelling and i have 5/8" labret in. But now it is sticking out a little bit, so i am considering putting the 1/4" labret in; it's a diamond one. But when I do wear it the diamond sticks in a little bit where it is almost level with my skin. If it helps, she shape of the labret is the shape of a martini glass, if you know what I mean. Is it normal for it to be in a little bit, or not?
