Should I really be put away for this?

I sorta had a psychotic break in the grocery store the other day, they didn't have the right kind of olives i needed for these martinis i was going to make for my friends who were at my house waiting for me, it just mad me so mad, i threw some of the jars at the workers and a security guard guy. Im 17, and they are saying I might have to stay in a Mental hospital for a short time?!? Is that really necassary!?? Is there anything I can do...I find this very minor compared to what other people do!
